🎃NFTs👻
Halloween Horror Nights is definitely a fan favorite for those who love all things Universal, and all things Halloween. With tons of houses, scare zones, and more to choose from, it’s no wonder that Universal Orlando, Hollywood, Singapore and Japan attract thousands guests each year. This year, we wanted to add even more excitement with a maze to collect “NFTs”. You will see some gif files that I created/animated that guests went around the park at each location to collect. Signage was added around the theme parks to encourage guests to go to our partner site with Hypermint by MoonPay. Guests could go around and collect all of the NFT gifs, before receiving their final special collectable HHN exclusive coin. This was very well received by the NFT world, and even introduced some new people to this world.
*These NFTs were non-tradable, and did not live on blockchains and cause no environmental damage. They are collectable gif files.*
These NFTs were introduced in the Universal Orlando Resort, in addition to Universal Studios Hollywood.
I created this map as a visual of where the guest would go around to collect these NFTs.
Outside of each house, we created signage that prompted the guest to ‘scan’ the QR code. Then, the user is able to collect the NFT based on location and the corresponding gif file. Each gif file is a surprise, so the guest does not know which item will pop up - only that it will correlate to the haunted house theme.
With the power of Hypermint, each guest could store their collected NFTs in their wallet. There were a total of 10 NFTs that they could collect. We wanted to create almost like a scavenger hunt, and guests had a great time doing so. Once you collect all 10, you’re rewarded with your final NFT.
Each house had a QR code to scan that would link the NFT that belonged to the house. The user was able to ‘collect’ their NFT in their collection.
